Highways Issues in Buxted Parish

Buxted Parish Council is aware of residents' concerns regarding roads, pavements, drainage, overgrown vegetation, potholes and other highways-related matters across the parish.

Buxted Parish Council would like to remind residents that responsibility for the maintenance, inspection and repair of the public highway rests with East Sussex Highways, acting on behalf of East Sussex County Council. This includes determining priorities for work, inspection schedules and the criteria used to decide whether intervention is required.

Residents are encouraged to report highways issues directly to East Sussex Highways via their online reporting system, as this ensures concerns are logged and assessed by the authority responsible for taking action. Residents can also use the East Sussex Highways Information Hub to view reported defects, track the progress of repairs, and see planned maintenance works in their area. This can be accessed via the East Sussex Highways website and provides a useful overview of current and upcoming highways activity.
